Amy Taylor Alpers went to the Juilliard School, danced professionally and taught ballet for 10 years in NYC. She received her BA and MA in dance from NYU. In 1989, under the tutelage of Romana Kryzanowska at The Pilates Studio in New York City, she received her original Pilates teaching certificate. In 1990 she co-founded The Pilates Center of Boulder, CO, and in 1997, The Moving Center. She co-authored The Everything Pilates Book and has served on the board of the PMA as well as presented workshops all over the world. Amy Taylor Alpers went to the Juilliard School for Dance, danced with the Garden State Ballet in New Jersey, then received her BA and MA in Dance from New York University. She began studying Pilates under the tutelage of Romana Kryzanowska at The Pilates Studio in New York City and received her original Pilates teaching certificate from there in July of 1989. Along with her sister, Rachel Taylor Segel, she established The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO in 1990. In addition, with the partnership of Mary Bischof Stoede, she co-founded The Moving Center in 1997. With her sister, Amy also co-authored The Everything Pilates Book published in 2002. She has been a board member of the PMA and served on the panel to create the PMA National Certification Exam.
