Hendrickson Method: Assessment and Treatment

Class Description:
This workshop will include a lecture, demonstration and a
hand's-on workshop. The lecture will review the normal
anatomy and biomechanics of the hip, patterns of
dysfunction and the etiology of degeneration. Common
patterns of muscle hypertonicity and weakness in response
to injury or dysfunction will be discussed. Dr.
Hendrickson will demonstrate a simple assessment to
determine if the hip joint has degenerated and a muscle
energy technique treatment to help restore normal range of
motion and function. Dr. Hendrickson will also
demonstrate his unique method of treatment called wave
mobilizati. Developed by Dr. Hendrickson during his
30 years of clinical practice, wave mobilization is a massage
stroke that is performed in gentle rhythmic oscillations that
mimic ocean waves. This unique stroke penetrates deep
within the body, dissolving adhesions, eliminating trigger
points, rehabilitating cartilage and discs and helping
restore normal neurological functi.
