Joseph Pilates, in his book Return to Life,
commands us to “above all, learn how to breathe correctly.” He clearly
describes how, only through the increasing and empowering of our breath
mechanism, can we achieve the ultimate triad of health - physical
well-being, mental calm, and spiritual peace.
In this Advanced Pilates Mat Class we will explore the breath mechanism and
its powerful ability to bring the body back to full health. We will look
deeply at the essential nuance of the timing and coordination of the breath
within the choreography of each exercise to develop our most effective
connection to our “powerhouse”/center. Discover how to make the body truly
connect to its core and then move from that connection safely, efficiently,
effectively, and powerfully. When the body accesses its real intrinsic
power it reveals hidden resources to heal itself and to achieve its fullest
potential!
