Description:
Endurance Sports -
triathlons, marathon, etc - are booming, and various studies
report that 60% of the participants suffer from injuries that
reduce participation time, and enjoyment. Many of these injuries
are preventable via preventive exercise programs. The cues and
benefits of Pilates are tailor made to reduce the incidence of
endurance exercise injuries and enhance participation enjoyment.
This lecture/demonstration will introduce the demands of the
endurance sports, as well as how specific Pilates exercises can
improve endurance sport performance and potentially reduce
injury. |
